Strengthening Inter-agency Cooperation to Enhance National Food Safety Standards for 2026-2030
Deputy PM Pham Thi Thanh Tra directs inter-agency cooperation to enhance food safety, protecting public health and the value of Vietnamese agricultural products.

On the afternoon of June 24, at the signing ceremony of the Coordination Program on promoting and monitoring the production and trade of safe agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products for the 2026-2030 period, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra affirmed that the Government has been implementing comprehensive mechanisms to enhance food standards for both domestic consumption and export.

On behalf of the Government, the Deputy PM highly appreciated the coordination between the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Farmers' Union, and the Vietnam Women's Union. Cooperative programs during the 2017-2025 period successfully scaled up safe production models and brought thousands of high-quality OCOP products to the market, significantly raising the prestige of national agricultural commodities.

The Deputy PM emphasized that food safety is a strategic task and a critical metric for sustainable development and green growth in line with the 14th Party Congress Resolution. Protecting public health remains the top priority within all national agricultural economic development policies.

For the new period, the Deputy PM requested a shift from traditional propaganda methods to active support and partnership with farmers. The focus is to build 'green-clean-traceable' criteria and provide output support to create 'passports' for Vietnamese agricultural products. Concurrently, the Ministry of Health is actively refining the amended Law on Food Safety to enhance transparency, risk management, and digital transformation in food traceability.
