High sodium intake among children is sounding a red alarm for parents regarding the management of daily nutritional intake. The rise of processed foods, fast food, and the habit of seasoning meals heavily at home are unknowingly subjecting children's developing bodies to sodium levels well above recommended limits, resulting in severe long-term health consequences.

This situation stems from modern lifestyle habits, where children increasingly rely on instant noodles, snacks, and fast food. Research indicates that over 70% of sodium consumption comes from processed and restaurant foods. Notably, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warns that a single fast-food meal can contain between 1,500 and 2,500 mg of sodium, which is equivalent to the total daily limit for a person.

Excessive salt intake leads to higher blood sodium levels, forcing the body to retain water to balance osmotic pressure.
