Government, Farmers' Union, and Women's Union Sign Food Safety Coordination Program for 2026-2030

The Government, the Vietnam Farmers' Union, and the Vietnam Women's Union have officially signed the Coordination Program No. 348/CTPH-CP-HNDVN-HLHPNVN. The core objective is to strengthen the advocacy, promotion, and strict supervision of the production and trade of safe agricultural, forestry, and fishery products for the 2026–2030 period, contributing to public health protection and sustainable development.

The program aims to completely eliminate the distinction between 'production for consumption' and 'production for business.' This requires producers to maintain professional ethics and legal compliance at all stages, ensuring that products failing to meet safety standards are not placed on the market.

A key target is that by 2030, 100% of households, cooperatives, and processing facilities in the agricultural, forestry, and fishery sectors with members from the two unions must sign a commitment to comply with food safety regulations. Furthermore, 100% of food safety officers at all levels will receive specialized training on supervision skills and guidance on clean production processes.

The program outlines seven main focus areas, emphasizing the promotion of scientific and technological applications, digital transformation, and the development of organic agriculture. Notably, the 'Community Supervision' movement will be deployed extensively, requiring each commune and ward to maintain at least one supervision model to detect and prevent food safety violations in a timely manner.

Supervision will focus on high-risk areas such as industrial zones, traditional markets, collective canteens at schools, and street food vendors. The union levels will serve as the core force in identifying and honoring exemplary models while firmly combating cases of unsafe food business.

Finally, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has been assigned to lead the coordination with relevant parties to compile annual implementation results and report to the Prime Minister, ensuring the roadmap meets the food safety targets set for the 2026–2030 period.
