Ho Chi Minh City to Deploy Food Safety Oversight Delegations in August 2026
The Standing Committee of the HCMC People's Council is preparing to deploy oversight delegations for food safety management across departments and districts.

The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council recently held a meeting to assign duties to oversight delegations focused on "State Management of Food Safety in Ho Chi Minh City." According to the plan, these delegations will conduct field surveys and direct monitoring across various agencies and localities throughout August 2026.
The scope of oversight will comprehensively cover the issuance of legal normative documents, the management and direction of the City People's Committee and its departments, and particularly the effectiveness of inspection activities and the handling of violations. The entities subject to oversight include the Food Safety Department, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Health, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the People's Committees of various communes, wards, and special zones.
Beyond administrative agencies, the delegations will also conduct physical inspections of production and business facilities, livestock and poultry slaughtering businesses, and collective kitchens in schools, hospitals, and industrial zones. The final report on the oversight results is expected to be submitted to the Standing Committee of the HCMC People's Council by mid-September 2026 to evaluate shortcomings and propose specific solutions for food safety management.
