Catering Services Suspended at Scavi Hue After Mass Food Poisoning Incident
The Hue Department of Health has suspended Hue Thanh Co., Ltd. following the hospitalization of over 180 workers at Scavi Hue suspected of food poisoning.

Following the incident where over 180 workers were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning, the Hue Department of Health has officially issued a decision to suspend the catering business operations of Hue Thanh Co., Ltd. The company was the provider for the canteen at Scavi Hue, located in Phong Dien Industrial Park.
According to the Director of the Hue Department of Health, Mr. Tran Kiem Hao, the suspension decision signed on September 12 is intended to ensure the absolute safety of the workers. During the suspension period, Scavi Hue is required to proactively identify alternative solutions to ensure meal provision adheres strictly to food safety regulations.
The incident began around 10:00 AM on September 11, when numerous workers at Scavi Hue displayed abnormal health symptoms during their shifts. Primary symptoms included fever, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. The company coordinated with local authorities to transport the workers to Hue Central Hospital (Branch 2) and the Phong Dien Health Center for emergency care and medical monitoring.
As of the evening of September 12, the total number of hospitalized cases reached 184, with preliminary diagnoses of acute gastroenteritis. Currently, the Hue Department of Health is collaborating with relevant units to collect samples of food, water, and environmental swabs from the kitchen for laboratory testing to identify the exact cause. The People's Committee of Phong Dien Ward has also been directed to strictly monitor the enforcement of this suspension.
