Khanh Hoa: Two Banh Mi Establishments Sanctioned for Severe Food Safety Violations

On July 29, the Sub-Department of Food Safety and Hygiene under the Khanh Hoa Department of Health reported that the People's Committee of Tan Lap Ward (Nha Trang) has issued an administrative penalty against the 'Co Hong' banh mi chao establishment, owned by Ms. V.T.S., located at the intersection of Tran Quy Cap and Thai Nguyen streets. According to authorities, the facility used equipment and tools that failed to meet food safety standards, resulting in a fine of 2 million VND. Furthermore, the establishment was ordered to suspend operations until it fully complies with statutory food safety requirements.

Previously, the People's Committee of Tan Lap Ward also sanctioned the 'Dong Man I' business establishment at 23B Ngo Gia Tu with a total fine of 14 million VND. The establishment was found to have committed four serious violations: failing to perform the legally mandated three-step food inspection process; failing to store food samples; staff handling food without wearing face masks; and lack of required waste collection equipment in the processing area. The inspection team has ordered the establishment to suspend food services and will only permit resumption of operations once all mentioned violations have been completely rectified.
