Abbott Partners with Seniors: The Key to a Healthy and Proactive Aging Journey
Discover the importance of scientific nutrition and proactive healthcare in helping Vietnamese seniors maintain their quality of life and independence.

Nutrition, physical activity, and regular medical check-ups are becoming the essential pillars helping older adults maintain their physical condition, mobility, and sustainable quality of life. With Vietnam officially entering the aging population phase in 2011 and projected to become an aged society by 2036, the need for proactive healthcare has become more urgent than ever.

Rather than focusing solely on medical treatment, the current goal is to help seniors maintain autonomy in their daily activities. According to Dr. Hoang Thi Viet Ha from Gia Dinh People's Hospital, combining balanced nutrition with appropriate exercise and periodic health screenings is the core formula for improving the physical well-being of the elderly.

To meet this demand, the "For a Healthier Vietnam" initiative by the Vietnam Young Physicians Association (VYPA), in partnership with Abbott, organized a free health check-up and consultation day for over 1,000 seniors in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the Vu Lan festival. This program provided not only medical services but also disseminated knowledge on preventive care and scientific nutrition to the community.

For many participants, this was a valuable opportunity to understand the physiological changes that occur with age. Ms. Dinh Hong Ngoc, Director of Communications and External Affairs at Abbott Vietnam, stated: "Abbott is proud to join hands in helping seniors live healthier and more fulfilling lives. We are committed to improving community healthcare quality through technology, collaborative initiatives, and scientific nutrition, aiming for a more sustainable future."

In the context of increasing life expectancy, the journey to building a healthier Vietnam extends beyond hospitals; it starts with individual and family efforts. Focusing on nutrition, muscle health, and a positive mindset will be the key to helping seniors stay engaged and enjoy their lives to the fullest.
