Hanoi People's Committee Directs Resolution of 'Bottlenecks' in School Meal Food Safety

This represents a key directive outlined in Official Dispatch No. 3995/UBND-KGVX, signed on August 6, 2026, by the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee. The document aims to implement Resolution No. 39/NQ-HĐND, dated July 15, 2026, by the City People's Council regarding food safety management in school meal programs.

Under the direction of the City People's Committee, heads of departments, agencies, and chairpeople of district-level communes are required to strictly adhere to current regulations. Units must implement synchronized solutions to improve state management effectiveness and resolve identified 'bottlenecks' in the school food supply chain.

Hanoi's leadership requires departments to urgently address the shortcomings highlighted in Article 2 of Resolution 39/NQ-HĐND. Relevant bodies must develop detailed action plans to ensure project deadlines and food quality standards are met. Concurrently, inspection efforts will be intensified to hold violating organizations and individuals accountable for food safety failures.

The Department of Health, acting as the standing agency for the City Food Safety Steering Committee, is tasked with monitoring and reporting on the implementation progress. Furthermore, food service providers are mandated to connect to the Hanoi Food Safety and Traceability Management System to ensure transparency and accuracy regarding the origin of ingredients in all student meals.
